half a llama, twice a llama, not a llama, farmer, llama [Aug. 31st, 2010|06:43 pm]
4th year of college has begun.

So far, my classes seem cool.

I started voice lessons with a new teacher yesterday. She seems cool.

I think I'm going to update this more often.

Katie and I are seeing Lady Gaga on September 8.

We are meeting Liza Minnelli on September 10.

The next day, we are probably going to die from so much awesomeness.

Speaking of awesomeness, I am playing Hope in Urinetown at Renaissance. Woot!

My Bobby is my friend Aaron - who has a FANTASTIC voice. He played Roger when we did RENT. So, this is going to be awesome. Our principals are extraordinary.

Yay - this is the first time I've played an ingenue since high school. So, this will be fun :-)

I friend-requested Ragan on Facebook. He told me too. Seriously, he did. He addressed the live-feeders and asked us to friend him. I totally did. Too bad he's gay. He is completely adorable.

douche [Mar. 25th, 2010|04:26 pm]
So, apparently, Denver is ALREADY dating someone else. Who? I have no clue. But, what a douche, to date someone 3 WEEKS after we broke up!

Fuck him.

der humpink [Mar. 15th, 2010|04:53 pm]
This past week has been really good. I mean really, really good.

Well, Denver and I are still good friends. The most important part of our relationship was friendship. I mean, we were friends to begin with. We're basically the same around each other except we don't kiss each other anymore. Meh.

Saturday-Wednesday of my Spring Break was basically spent with the Ballards. After coming back from NATS, we went to see "Peter Pan" at HHS. Quite amazing - Brandon was Captain Hook, and a girl named Sarah Lewis played Peter. She had this spectacular voice - and she's only a sophomore. I turned to James after she sang her first number and said, "All right - we need her for Ivy Mountain this summer." I think we've got her! Out to dinner and watched "Role Models" with the boys. Sunday, I slept in and then watched the Oscars with Dana and the boys. Lots of wooting when Christoph Waltz (whom I have a gigantic crush on) won for Best Supporting Actor. Monday was the start of another round of "Into the Woods" except this time I play Florinda, one of the stepsisters. It will be nice to actually relax during the show - but it bugs me that people can't count music. Maybe I'm just being anal and think before you have a music session you should, I don't know, actually LISTEN to the cast recording that was given to you! If I get a part in a show I'm not extremely familiar with - I listen to the fucking recording so I know what it's supposed to sound like . . .gah. Umm . . .Tuesday - James and I got a lot of early planning for doing his show this summer. The good thing is that we don't have to pay royalties/rentals. Basically, our only big expense is renting a space - which hopefully won't be more than $1,000. I don't think it should be anymore than that - mostly because it's not a big space and because the owners know me very well. So, we're co-directing this year - I think that will be a lot of fun. It will take a load off of both of us (he directed "Reefer", I directed "Woods"). I don't want to "take over" his piece - but I don't want him to be overloaded with the direction - so I think we can share it this year. Wednesday, after another ITW rehearsal, movie night with the boys - watched "Inglourious Basterds" and I finally saw "Up."  "Basterds" is so much better the second go 'round - and because I wasn't hopped up on Benadryl and anti-biotics, I actually made it through without dozing through the tavern scene - which boggled me because I was riveted to the screen the entire movie. "Up" is absolutely adorable. Thursday, Friday, Saturday was basically chilling around the house - watched "Precious" with my family - very good movie. Gabourey Sidibe is phenomenal, as is Mo'Nique. She totally deserved that Oscar!

Today - I've had some really good classes. Starting work on my classical pieces for Burkey - one of which is the Seguedille from "Carmen" and I've also got a German piece and a Mozart piece. I got an A+ on my "Superman" textual analysis for Dr. Mike, and got some ideas for my next two papers for the class. I sang a selection from L5Y for Burkey's voice class (she picked it - not me!). And now, I'm chilling in the Mac Lab and just watched Christoph Waltz handle a leopard and an otter. Going to Red Lobster and then to see "Alice in Wonderland" with Thomas, whom I haven't seen in AGES!!!

So, yeah, life is good.

huh [Mar. 1st, 2010|06:18 pm]
Denver and I broke up today. On some level, it surprised me, but on another level, it didn't. I don't know - I felt that it was coming for a little while now. He was extremely emotionally distant the past few weeks. We both admitted that we do love each other - but we just weren't right for each other. He was really upset by it too - he handled the situation gingerly because he knows what I went through in the past. I don't know - he still wants to be friends, though. I mentioned just going back to the way things were last year at this time - we both still have feelings for each other, but without the "boyfriend/girlfriend" titles. I don't know. We are very different from each other - and it didn't really become too apparent until this semester started. He wants to go in an extremely different direction than I do, and I can see that.

I'll be okay - it'll just take a little bit of time. At least he didn't try to play games with me like others have done.

NYE Festivities [Jan. 1st, 2010|08:16 pm]
Last night was probably the best NYE celebration ever.

Went over to the Ballard Manor and devoured homemade pizzas, watched people play Rummy, and then played Cranium (which my team lost horribly at - got really bad luck when it came to questions). Champagne toast at midnight, played a drinking game to "Love Actually" - every time they said "love," "shit," or "fuck"; every time the theme played; every time someone cried. Was down a bottle of Mike's Hard Spiced Apple and half a glass of Captain Morgan and Coca Cola . . .then proceeded to watch Robin Williams: Weapons of Self Destruction. Nice . . .then approx. 4 AM we all went to bed. Woke up the next morning to "Hey! We have sweet rolls and we have stuff to make omelets." Mmmm . . .

All of this was with people I love being around. The Ballard family, Laura, Clayton, Chris, Anne, Kip, Bethany, Eric, and Christina . . .:-D

Wellll . . .I'm doing the semi-annual "thorough" clean and throw away half the crap that's in my room thing . . .and watching/listening to movies in the process . . .made it through 3 "I Love Lucy" episodes, "It's Always Fair Weather, "Kismet," and 30 minutes of "Oklahoma!"

Hopefully going out tomorrow with the sisters to do some shopping. Need new character shoes, new coat, new jeans, and maybe just some stupid buys . . .we shall see.

Happy 2010!
